Scottish Economic Research (SER) is a research, intelligence and consultancy service located at the University of Abertay Dundee, within the Dundee Business School.

SER's mission is to perform research and provide evidence-based analyses that help clients develop effective business policies, programmes and projects.

Established in 1996, SER has expertise in labour market intelligence, economic forecasting, regional analysis, sector studies, project evaluation and appraisal, skills auditing, economic/social/environmental impact studies, survey administration and analysis, strategic reviews, and baseline assessments.

The work of the centre is supported by a comprehensive in-house information service which provides access to online government data sources and more than 1,000 specialist publications.

Since its opening SER has successfully undertaken over 80 projects for 15 different clients, provided major research information to 460 organisations, and answered over 1,500 separate information enquiries.
