Honours project guide

Your Honours Project is probably the largest and most complicated piece of academic work you have ever been asked to complete. It is meant to be challenging.  It can also be daunting.

This guide offers advice on the different aspects of completing your project, including:

  • Organising your time
  • Structuring and writing up your report
  • Working with your supervisor

More detailed information on the specific requirements of your course can be found from your School and from the relevant module descriptor available from OASIS.  The module information part of this guide gives you tips on how to make the most of the help the module descriptor and the other guides you might get from your tutor.

The Academic Librarians are always happy to assist with research queries, to help you make the most of journals and other online materials, and with referencing.

You are also more than welcome to visit the Academic Support advisors for help with planning your work schedule this semester, structuring your project, writing up, proof-reading and more.

This guide on how to complete your Honours Project was funded by CELT and written by Jill Galbraith during the course of her work as a Student Adviser here at the University.
