Local Government Pension Scheme LGPS

An information leaflet and further information are available from the Pension Section of Dundee City Council. The scheme covers all support staff of the University including teaching assistants, project research staff, administrative, clerical and technical staff etc.

The University recognises the University and College Union (UCU), and Unite for collective bargaining purposes and has in place a formal liaison group which enables it to meet with the recognised trade unions on a regular basis for consultative purposes.

Any employee wishing to retire from employment with the University should submit their formal notice in writing to their Dead of School/Director of Service, with a copy to the Head of Human Resources.

This notification follows the basic process as when an employee is resigning from the University, and so the appropriate notice period as outlined in their specific terms and conditions of employment, should be noted.

Required notice periods are generally as outlined below, unless otherwise stated in the individual terms and conditions of the employees contract of employment.
