Limbo's Bridge - An Applicative Study of Foliage in Game Design

Synopsis

By combining fundamental techniques from a range of artistic, game design, and psychological sources, this project aims to create a method to design foliage of many types - with a specific focus on trees - for video game environments. Featuring several different biomes, each with their unique emotional aim achieved by the proposed method, the player gets to walk through curated natural environments - set on a never-ending bridge - experiencing multiple complex atmospheres, moods, tones and feelings someone could encounter in the real world, in a video game environment.
