Evaluating the use of a custom controller created through Arduino to experiment with the use of non-traditional hardware in game controls

Synopsis

The project revolves around the creation of a video game controller using Arduino hardware and software. The project focuses on the use of different components as inputs for a video game and evaluating which ones are suitable for each type of input needed. Evaluated through user testing within a video game designed around the controller, this project seeks to analyse whether particular types of hardware and inputs could become suitable for, and used within, games and if these could then be used in a professional controller.

Evaluating the use of a custom controller created through Arduino to experiment with the use of non-traditional hardware in game controls

The research of Arduino components and inputs in the form of a video game controller and the suitability of these inputs.

Project Motivation

I was fascinated by Arduino since first using it. A former lecturer's love of custom controllers and the creations they made, inspired me to try and follow in those footsteps and attempt to research into it on my own and create something myself.
