Getting people more active is an urgent public health priority. This vocational Physical Activity and Health degree gives you all the skills and knowledge you need to help address this complex challenge. As a physical activity specialist, you’ll learn how to make a positive impact on individual and community health.

This degree is highly practical, drawing on the core disciplines of physiology, psychology and sociology, while you learn about the effects of physical activity and inactivity on individual health. This includes exploring the needs of general and special populations (e.g. those experiencing pregnancy, obesity and type 2 diabetes) and how to incorporate and increase physical activity at the individual, community and population levels.

Why Dundee?

Dundee is going through something of a cultural rebirth.

It was named by The Wall Street Journal as one of the world’s hottest destinations, helped greatly by the £80m V&A Dundee, the stunning design museum, which opened its doors in 2018.

Dundee is a little pot of gold at the end of the A92 - The Guardian

It’s an extremely friendly city, which is small enough to get from A to B by foot, but large enough to have great shopping and vibrant nightlife.

Dundee is a contemporary city full of energy and vision—it has one of the highest student population ratios in the UK—and it’s the perfect environment for a physical activity and health student to learn their trade.
