BSc (Hons) Psychology

Study BSc (Hons) Psychology at Scotland’s Top Modern University for teaching and overall student satisfaction (NSS 2023).

Why do people behave in the way they do? How can research help us to understand human behaviour? What are the approaches and methods used in counselling practice? On this course, you’ll develop an understanding of human behaviour and combine it with a knowledge of mental health and counselling skills.

Psychology is the scientific study of behaviour and mental processes, and the relation between the two. Using contemporary research, we will give you a scientific understanding of mind, brain, behaviour and experience and the complex interactions between them. You’ll explore how we act and interact as individuals and in groups, and the thoughts and feelings that motivate behaviour.

Why Dundee?

Dundee is going through something of a cultural rebirth.

It was named by The Wall Street Journal as one of the world’s hottest destinations, helped greatly by the £80m V&A Dundee, the stunning design museum, which opened its doors in 2018.

Dundee is a little pot of gold at the end of the A92 - The Guardian

It’s an extremely friendly city, which is small enough to get from A to B by foot, but large enough to have great shopping and vibrant nightlife.

Dundee is a contemporary city full of energy and vision—it has one of the highest student population ratios in the UK—and it’s the perfect environment for a psychology and counselling student to learn their trade.
