Two of Dundee’s biggest video games studios have joined forces to sponsor the next generation of games talent.

Ninja Kiwi Europe and Outplay Entertainment have each contributed £2,500 to support the Abertay Digital Graduate Show (ADGS) 2021 which takes place online on 25 June.

The event will showcase outstanding games, tech, computer arts and computing projects produced by students from Abertay University’s School of Design and Informatics via a live stream and on the Abertay website.

ADGS offers students a chance put their work in front of future employers at a time when Dundee’s games industry is growing, despite the challenges of the pandemic.

Dean of the School of Design and Informatics Professor Gregor White said: “To have two high calibre games studios like Ninja Kiwi Europe and Outplay Entertainment sponsor this year’s show highlights the importance we place on our connections with industry.

“We are sure both our sponsors and the wider public will be wowed with the quality of work exhibited by our students and I look forward to welcoming everyone to the show on the 25th of June.”

“It’s really important for us that the games talent of tomorrow is well supported and it’s fantastic to see that the quality of work on display just seems to get better every time ADGS comes around.

Emma Turner Head of HR at Outplay Entertainment added: “Abertay University is one of the leading games schools in the world and is continuously recognised as the best place in Europe for video games-related courses.

“The quality of the talent graduating from Abertay each year never fails to impress us.

“Our Learning and Development Academy at Outplay is committed to supporting and facilitating knowledge sharing and skills development within the industry, especially for those starting out in their careers.

“The Outplay Academy is proud to be able to support this event and spotlight the incredible work produced by this year's graduates.”
