Abertay has been ranked in the UK top 10 for student experience and 11th in the UK for teaching quality in The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025.

The guide ranked Abertay's sports sciences, civil engineering, food science, criminology and psychology programmes top in Scotland and in the UK top 10 for both student experience and teaching quality.

Sociology, biomedical sciences and computer arts programmes were ranked in the top 15 in the UK for teaching quality, while computer science programmes were ranked in the UK top 15 for student experience.

These latest ranking follows a year of success which has seen Abertay named top modern university in Scotland for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2024, and also placed in the Times Higher Education's UK top 10 for 'overall positivity' rating.

Abertay was also ranked top international school for games design by the Princeton Review 2024.

Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Liz Bacon said:

These excellent results once again underline Abertay's reputation as one of the UK's leading institutions for both teaching quality and student experience. Colleagues across the institution put in an exceptional amount of hard work and dedication to ensure that we are providing programmes of the very highest standard and first-rate student support, so it's pleasing to see that reflected in these external rankings and our feedback from students.
