Leading seafood manufacturer Thistle Seafoods has launched a new £6,000 scholarship to support a first-year student pursuing a BSc (Hons) in Food and Consumer Science at Abertay University.
The scholarship, which includes a paid summer placement at one of the company’s sites, is designed to provide financial and practical support to a student who demonstrates academic excellence, ambition, and a passion for the food and drink manufacturing industry.
Thistle Seafoods is one of Europe’s largest family-owned seafood manufacturers and supplies high-quality products to leading retail and food service customers across the UK, Europe, USA, Canada and Australia.
The company’s Head Office and centre of excellence for coated products are in Peterhead, in North-East Scotland. With state-of-the-art, fully accredited manufacturing facilities, Thistle Seafoods ensures the highest standards of production, enabling them to meet supply demands and deliver tailored product solutions.

The scholarship, launching later this year, will support recipients throughout their four-year undergraduate degree by providing eight instalments over the course of their studies. The scholarship also includes a 12-week summer placement at Thistle Seafoods’ Uddingston or Boddam sites, set to take place after the student’s third year.
