Biography

Linda is a Lecturer within the Division of Nursing and Counselling and she also undertakes the role of Adult Field Lead for BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing, she has been in Nurse Education for 16 years and also has considerable experience in a variety of clinical areas.  She holds qualifications in both Accident and Emergency Nursing and Orthopaedic Nursing, and is also a Recorded NMC Teacher.

Linda teaches both the theory and practice of nursing, in that she teaches clinical skills as well as a variety of nursing topics from the nursing management of specific conditions to personal and professional development topics as well as drug calculations and Human biology. She also teaches on the Mentor Preparation Programme for qualified nurses in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Dundee. 

Interests

Linda has a particular interest in how students learn through the use of simulation and also in how students learn when on clinical practice placement. She obtained funding from the Abertay Teaching and Enhancement of  Learning Fund to formulate an online learning package for Drug Calculations and to evaluate its effectiveness.
